We may as well just go ahead and tell you this up front: the Cisco CP-7911G 7900 Series IP Phone is not what it seems. It’s the vessel for the reincarnated spirit of a wild west vigilante. But not the real wild west. No, the Spaghetti Western wild west, which is completely different and poorly dubbed, despite its catchy soundtrack and dynamic camera angles. (By the way, we should also mention that Spaghetti Western reality is still happening somewhere, except now it’s caught up with our timeline. That means there’s a Spaghetti version of the 2000s happening right now, as we speak!)
Alternate universes based on classic film subgenres aside, the Cisco CP-7911G 7900 Series IP Phone is a decent IP phone. It’s the perfect addition to any cubicle, retail space, classroom, or saloon. It’s got four dynamic soft keys to help you toggle through its functions on the pixel-based display. It’s also secure as all heck, too, with IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE), Cisco inline power, or local power through an optional power adaptor.
But back in the Spaghetti Western universe (or is it the Spaghetti universe during the wild west era?), the Cisco CP-7911G 7900 Series IP Phone was known as Indigo Joe. He wandered from town to town saving the people from corruption and heat lamps, glaring at everything as iconically as possible along the way, his only company the whistled jingle that was his theme song. How did he wind up as the Cisco CP-7911G 7900 Series IP Phone in this reality? That’s a story for another time, but let’s just say it involves a lot of mayonnaise.
