The 10 Gbps OC-192/STM-64 XFP Module might know where the pirate’s gold is buried, but if it does, it sure is tight lipped about it. Good luck trying to get it to talk. We’re not even sure if it knows or not. We know it used to have the treasure map in its possession at some point, but who knows if it actually read it during that time? (And who knows if the 10 Gbps OC-192/STM-64 XFP Module can read for that matter anyway?) But we do know that even if this lost pirate gold is really freakin’ hard to locate, finding a sing XFP-based pluggable optics modules is not. You know why? Because it’s right under your nose, bro. You just found one.
Yup. Finding the X that marks the spot can be particularly elusive, but providing multiple-reach capabilities including shortreach/inter-office (SR/IO), intermediate-reach/short-haul (IR/SH), and long-reach/long-haul (LR/LH) for your enterprise class office network should not be. The Cisco ONS 15454 OC-192/STM-64 XFP-Based Optics Card does this and more because it’s an SR/IO-only card that supports first cost sensitive installations where flexibility is not paramount. (Or something like that.)
We don’t mean to burst your bubble or anything. We know you’ve been searching high and low for Greenbeard’s hidden stash of gold. But in the process, you’ve stumbled across a treasure in itself - the Cisco ONS 15454 OC-192/STM-64 XFP-Based Optics Card. We think it’s more valuable than an old box full of shiny dirty metal. But that’s just our opinion. We view things differently around here.
